Martinez Butcher’s is a family butcher’s business in Tottenham. They have recently changed into a more spacious place, closing for five months due to the pandemic. But, despite all the challenges they had to face, they are now open and ready to keep offering high-quality meat and other products to their customers.
Tell us about you and your family business
My name is Metch Martinez and I was born in Belen de Umbria, Colombia. Martinez Butcher’s is run by my family and me. I’ve had different businesses during my professional life. A few years ago, we decided to own a butcher’s trade. We didn’t have much experience preparing and slicing meat for customers; therefore, we hired skilled butchers who could contribute positively to the company. Since then, our butcher has been well known in the area because of our quality products and customer service.
How has the business been going during the pandemic?
Changing into a bigger place in the middle of a pandemic has been a challenge for our family as many sacrifices have been made to upgrade our business. However, we’re very grateful for the opportunity we’ve had as it has meant an increase in our inventory.
“I’m proud of running a family business, where we all are working together towards the same goals while offering a great experience to our customers.”— Mech Martinez
